The Founders
Two centuries after the struggle for independence our nation’s Founders often are shrouded in myth and mystery. Their achievements often cloud their personalities and their interactions with each other. After perusing the selections below, you will find the Founding Generation to be poignant, prickly, humorous, and entertaining. The first set of selections are word portraits taken from John Kaminski’s book The Founders on the Founders that highlights 30 individuals from the Revolutionary Period. The second set of materials are selections taken from An Assembly of Demigods which focuses on the 55 delegates at the Constitutional Convention. You will also find over 25 interviews with John Kaminski, which were done for Wisconsin Public Radio’s University of the Air programs. Lastly, we have included links to all of the biographical chapbooks in the America’s Founders Series.
